At the 2023 Conference on Health, Inference, and Learning (CHIL), Eric Lehman (MIT, OpenEvidence) and colleagues won the Best Paper award. CHIL targets a cross-disciplinary representation of clinicians and researchers (from industry and academia) in machine learning, health policy, causality, fairness, and other related areas.
The conference is designed to spark insight-driven discussions on new and emerging ideas that may lead to collaboration and discussion.
The paper, titled “Do We Still Need Clinical Language Models?”, was a collaboration between scientists from OpenEvidence (Xyla Research Group), MIT, Harvard Medical School, The Hospital for Sick Children, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
